VIGILANCE HEADQUARTERS
Vigilance's main base is a retired Atlantean embassy under the Hudson River, while not stocked with nearly as many shinies as Stark's tower it is a comfortable enough base of operations. The underwater base has adequate housing for the team, though living there is far from mandatory, and the rooms are fairly comfortably size, given the building's former purpose. Built with aesthetics in mind, there are quite a few windows providing a view of the water outside, this includes a lit walkway around the perimeter of the building, several hallways, and the dining hall. There is no real staff to provide meals, but groceries and supplies are brought in every few weeks. There is a common room for people to 'hang out' complete with servicable couches, though no TV, as yet. In the center of the structure there is a meeting room, made large enought o handle parties of debating diplomats, or a band of plucky youngsters. (look up atlantean crest). There is a security room, with monitors to keep track of the hallways, and the water outside the building, and attatched to it is a small, empty, armory where the security officers of the Atlantean delegation kept armaments, in case they became neccesary. There are a few different storage rooms, including one that has been slated for being turned into a training room slash gym. There are a few wall terminals at different points that can be used either as access to the computer system, or to send announements or messages to different places. There are a few off limits areas, including a few holding cells, a main computer room, and the reactor room. The reactor is atlantean technology, and capable of powering the structure independantly. In case of shut down, malfunction, or destruction, there is a secondary generator that can keep the vital systems going, at least for awhile. There is room for improvement in a lot of places, and part of being a member of vigilance will be adding one's personal touch to the HQ. The embassy is a bit wet at points, since originally it wasn't designed to keep all the water -out- Atlanteans having that helpful water breathing thing going for them. It is prone to getting the odd leak, and the odd creak from water pressure, that maybe a little unnerving for those used to life on the surface. The decor is still largely atlantean, with aquatic imagery and symbols on walls, carpets and furniture. The furniture could also use to be a little more comfortable.
The embassy has a few different entrances both subtle and obvious. The blatant entrance is through the original tunnel made to reach the embassy, wide enough to fit both incoming and outgoing traffic. More covertly there are a few different tunnel systems through nearby warehouses and even the subway system that can be used to get access. The middle ground is a moon pool designed for submarines. In cases of emergency a series of metal shutters can be dropped over the windows and tunnels, and the moon pool can be sealed to either keep threats out... or in. As a diplomatic building, and a retired one at that, it lacks either internal or external armaments
